Position: Cumulative Effects Coordinator Classification:Full time, Term (April 2024 – March 2025) Salary:$32-35/hr depending on experience Location:Williams Lake, BC Deadline:Until Filled The Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG) is the official First Nations government serving the Tŝilhqot'in Nation. TNG is located in Williams Lake, BC and serves six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tŝideldel, Yuneŝit'in, Tl'etinqox, Xeni Gwet'in, and Tl'esqox. TheCumulative Effects (CE) Coordinatorwill work to advance the Nation’s CE decision-making tools and processes using a two-eyed seeing approach and bringing together Tŝilhqot’in knowledge and scientific knowledge in ways that honour and reflect Tŝilhqot’in values and priorities. The skillsets required for this position will include project management and community engagement skills. Key Responsibilities * Effectively engage the Tŝilhqot’in Nation members and leaders from the six communities gather information and support timely decisions * Share updates at internal council and committee meetings, workshops and Nation events * Ensure data and information are being analyzed in a methodologically appropriate and effective manner * Ensure the Nation is conducting the appropriate validation and verification necessary to maintain confidence in analyzed data and information * Ensure programs and models are updated as necessary * Ensure data analysis and spatial modelling tools incorporate new data as it becomes available * Ensure data revisions and updates are conducted for programs and models to run smoothlyRequirements * A post-secondary degree in geographical sciences or a related field * Research experience and skills * Data and communication security and confidentiality awareness * Familiarity with community outreach and engagement work, with experience working closely with Indigenous community members * Knowledge and skilled in GIS mapping and data collection programs and tools * Knowledge and skilled in data and information management * Knowledge and skilled in R programming * Project management skills * Facilitation and community engagement skills * Strong written and verbal communication * Strong organizational and time-management skills * High attention to detail, specifically when managing deadlines * Eagerness to learn * Cultural awareness and sensitivityWorking Conditions * Travel will be required * Ability to work independently or as part of a team * Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware * Overtime as required * Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be requiredPlease send a cover letter, resume and 3 references to: Jenai Nolin, Human Resources Generalist & Recruitment Tŝilhqot’in National Government 1729 South Lakeside Drive Williams Lake, BC V2G 3A9 Email: jenainolin@tsilhqotin.ca Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal Ancestry - per Section 16(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act Only those invited to interview will be contacted.
